Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional pre-approved weekend work)

Project/Initiative:
Elections – Texas State Redistricting Backfill

Position Overview:
Tarrant County is seeking a skilled GIS Systems Analyst to support the Elections Department during the anticipated Texas State Representative redistricting process. This legislative change is expected to significantly increase the workload of the existing GIS staff, requiring additional support to ensure timely and accurate project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform GIS analysis, mapping, and data management tasks related to election boundaries and redistricting.
  • Support the Elections Department in processing and updating geographic data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain GIS databases and ensure data integrity throughout the redistricting process.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS-related issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a GIS Analyst or in a similar GIS-focused role.
  • Strong proficiency in GIS software and tools (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS).
  • Ability to manage, analyze, and visualize spatial data.
  • Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Prior experience in election mapping or governmental projects is a plus, but not required.

Why This Role is Needed:
The Texas State redistricting process is anticipated to increase the Elections Department's workload beyond current capacity. This position will provide essential support to ensure deadlines are met and data accuracy is maintained.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $55.00 - $58.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
