About the position

Responsibilities

  • Support relationship between NTID and the U.S. Congress, coordinating meetings and trips to Washington D.C.
  • Draft and update briefing documents for Congress regarding NTID's appropriations request and annual budget testimony.
  • Monitor Congressional hearings and relevant communications related to NTID's interests.
  • Maintain a database of Congressional meetings and contacts.
  • Coordinate the production and submission of the 200-page Annual Report and other compliance documents to the U.S. Secretary of Education.
  • Assist with annual budget request submissions to the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Provide logistical support for government-related activities at NTID, including meetings and conferences.
  • Encourage Congressional internship opportunities for NTID students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in government or a related field.
  • At least one year of related experience in government or a related field, including project management experience.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding of NTID's mission and goals.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or commitment to developing ASL proficiency.
