Job Title: Torch Operator
Location: Monroe, NC
Pay: $18/hr. - $19/hr.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 2pm-10pm
Position Overview: We are seeking a Torch Operator that will be responsible for cutting specialized metal materials into smaller sections to support downstream processing. The position requires safe operation of torch equipment and collaboration with a team member to ensure materials are properly sorted and prepared for further handling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate an acetylene torch to cut metal materials such as nickel, cobalt, and titanium into designated sizes.
- Follow established procedures to ensure materials are cut accurately and efficiently.
- Work alongside a helper or serve as a helper by collecting and placing cut materials into designated containers for processing.
- Maintain attention to detail to ensure quality and consistency of completed work.
- Follow all workplace safety standards while handling equipment and materials.
- Assist with general material handling as needed.
Equipment Used:
- Acetylene torch fueled by acetylene gas cylinders
- Overhead crane for material handling
Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating torch cutting equipment preferred
- Ability to work safely with industrial equipment and materials
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work accurately
- Willingness to learn and contribute to team objectives
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Heavier lifting tasks will be performed with assistance or equipment
- Ability to stand and work in an industrial environment for extended periods
