Responsibilities

EV Hardware & Product Certification
  • Certification Planning & Execution: Support and manage certification activities for EV charging hardware, including coordination with internal engineering teams and external test laboratories.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure products meet applicable regional safety, EMC, and performance standards, such as UL, IEC, CE, FCC, and other market‑specific regulatory requirements.
  • Standards Compliance Validation: Verify charger compliance with standards such as UL 2202, UL 2231, IEC 61851, IEC 62196, ISO 15118, and SAE standards throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Pre‑Compliance Testing: Conduct or support pre‑compliance testing (electrical safety, EMC, environmental, communication protocols) to identify risks early and reduce certification delays.
  • Certification Documentation: Review and maintain required technical documentation, test reports, and compliance evidence needed for product certification and market release.
  • Change Impact Analysis: Assess the certification impact of hardware, firmware, and software changes and support re‑certification activities when required.
Performance Monitoring
  • Field Data Analysis: Track and analyze data collected from chargers in the field to identify and address performance issues, especially during the initial product launch and post‑certification phases.
Troubleshooting
  • Systematic Approach: Use techniques like data mining, system log analysis, EMC/debug testing, and performance testing to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with chargers.
  • Reproduction and Isolation: Conduct lab and field tests to replicate and isolate issues, developing corrective actions aligned with compliance and certification requirements.
Cross‑Team Collaboration
  • Work effectively with hardware, firmware, software, certification, quality, and operations teams to resolve complex issues, leveraging a multidisciplinary approach to problem‑solving.
  • Interface with certification bodies, test houses, and regulatory authorities as needed during validation and approval phases.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in the EV charging industry.
  • Minimum of 3 year of experience in DC Fast Charging, EVSE validation, hardware testing, certification support, or solution sales with strong technical exposure.
  • Experience working with complex electromechanical systems, demonstrating strong diagnostic, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action skills.
  • OCPP Standards: Experience with Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) versions, specifically 1.6 (required) and 2.0.1 (preferred).
  • Vehicle Charging Standards: Experience with DIN70121 and ISO15118; knowledge of NACS / SAE J3400 is advantageous.
  • DCFC Standards & Safety: Familiarity with SAE, IEC, ISO, and UL standards related to DC fast charging, including SAE J1772, IEC 61851, IEC 62196, UL 2202, and UL 2231.
  • Product Certification Experience (Highly Desirable):
    • Hands‑on involvement in EVSE or electrical product certification processes (UL, CE, FCC, CB Scheme, IEC).
    • Understanding of safety, EMC, environmental, and grid‑compliance testing requirements. Networking Standards: Understanding of PLC, TCP/IP, and related communication protocols.

  • Machine States & Communication Protocols: Proficiency with machine states, Wireshark network analysis, and basic CAN communication.
  • Diagnostic Tools: Familiarity with EV diagnostic and test tools such as Vector, Keysight, Iotecha, or equivalent.
