Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be during normal business hours, Monday – Friday. Primary Responsibilities:<ul><li>Contact insurance providers to determine reason for payment delinquency, claim errors and delays</li><li>Negotiate and advise on collection of overdue / incorrect claims and take appropriate action to recover overdue payments</li><li>Handle unresolved billing or collection inquiries / issues</li><li>Responsible for adhering to Accounts Receivable and collection practices, policies and procedures</li><li>May work with outside legal counsel and / or outside agencies in more complex collection cases</li><li>Basic tasks are completed without review by others</li><li>Hospital or patient accounting department functions, operations and procedures </li><li>Medical terminology, procedure and diagnosis coding sufficient to assess accuracy of patient accounts </li><li>Covered insurance benefits, billing requirements and procedures for third party payers and / or Government Payer Programs</li><li>Knowledge of UB04 / 1550 claim forms for Medicare, Medicaid, Medi-Cal and other Government Payer Programs.</li><li>Operation of online computerized patient accounting systems and / or electronic billing systems</li><li>Hospital and patient accounting department functions to include general clerical office practices and procedures </li><li>Understanding of HCPCS / CPT and ICD10 Coding, Medicare guidelines and rules</li><li>Knowledge of payer contracts, insurance policies and benefit coverage</li></ul> You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:<ul><li>High School Diploma / GED</li><li>Must be 18 years of age OR older </li><li>1+ years of experience in hospital/facility collections</li><li>1+ years of experience in commercial claim and Medicare collections</li><li>Experience working with insurance companies to verify the status of denied claims and ensure timely payment</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Word (creating and writing memos), Microsoft Excel (creating, filtering, and navigating reports in spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (setting calendar appointments and emails)</li><li>Ability to work full time Monday - Friday.
