<p><strong>About the Role </strong></p><p>Corvendra is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with strong expertise in Nigerian tax laws and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate must be certified, preferably an ICAN certification, with a proven track record of at least 5 years in accounting and taxation, and the ability to handle complex financial reporting, tax computation, and statutory filings across Value added tax (VAT), Company income tax (CIT), Personal income tax (PIT), and Petroleum profit tax (PPT). This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work remotely and onsite as required. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li>Serve as the company’s in-house domain expert for all tax computation and compliance logic. </li><li>Validate and review implemented computation models (for Company Income Tax, Personal Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Petroleum Profit Tax, and others) to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with relevant tax laws. </li><li>Collaborate closely with the product, engineering, and QA teams to design and test tax formulas, business rules, and filing workflows. </li><li>Monitor changes in Nigerian tax regulations and ensure timely updates to the system’s logic and computation templates. </li><li>Support the design of audit-ready computation trails, compliance reports, and tax statement generation. </li><li>Review test scenarios and validate output data during release cycles for accuracy and compliance. </li><li>Train internal teams and provide documentation to strengthen tax understanding across departments. </li><li>Serve as a liaison between Taxpadi and external tax authorities or consultants where necessary. </li><li>Contribute to product roadmap discussions, ensuring all features reflect practical and regulatory tax realities.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong> </p><p>● ICAN certification (mandatory). </p><p>● Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting and taxation experience. </p><p>● Strong technical knowledge of Nigerian tax laws such as, Company Income Tax, Personal Income Tax, Value Added Tax, Petroleum Profit Tax, etc. </p><p>● Demonstrated experience in tax computation, compliance review, and audit support. </p><p>● Familiarity with tax software, e-filing portals (FIRS TaxPro Max, State IRS), and automation workflows. </p><p>● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data validation for financial models. </p><p>● Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills. </p><p>● Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. </p><p>● Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.
